Applications for scholarships 2016/2017

The PhD program MAP-Tele was selected in the competition for funding from the Foundation for Science and Technology, IP (FCT, IP), having been awarded 6 PhD scholarships. Under that tender the Scientific Committee is tasked to select students who will benefit from the scholarships funded by FCT, IP.

Candidates to these scholarships must submit their applications from 1 to 18 of August 2016, by sending an e-mail to apply@tele.map.edu.pt with the subject "MAP-tele Scholarship Application", and following the rules defined here and here.

All applicants for these scholarships must have applied for admission to the MAP‐Tele edition that begins in the 2016/2017 school year in one of the application phases announced in www.tele.map.edu.pt.

Applications for the 2016/2017 edition of the MAP-tele Doctoral Programme in Telecommunications are open from 1 of June to 10 of July (second phase).

There are grants available. The applications for the grants should be submitted separately. Further information will be provided later.

MAP-tele Workshop 2016

The 2016 Workshop of the MAP-tele Doctoral Program will be
held on May 4th, at Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade
do Porto, Rua Dr. Roberto Frias, s/n, 4200-465 Porto,
Portugal. The workshop is organized by MAP-tele students and showcases
the research work/results of current MAP-tele students in
different phases of their doctoral studies/research. It consists of a one-day event including 4 oral presentation
sessions, one poster session, one keynote speech and one
discussion panel. The keynote speech is entitled "Adopting nature inspired
techniques in solving communication problems" and will be
given by Prof. Andreas Pitsillides from the University of
Cyprus. Location and time are FEUP's noble amphitheater
(B032), from 11:300 till 12:30. The discussion panel will debate "A world of Internet of
Things and Big Data" and includes representatives from five
reference international companies: Altice Labs, Bosch,
Compta, IBM, Ubiwhere. The moderator is Prof. Rui Aguiar
from the University of Aveiro. Location and time are FEUP's
